PISDYN

PISDYN is a simulation code for the analysis of piston secondary motion. The methodology used in PISDYN involves the modeling of the dynamics of the piston, wrist-pin bearing, connecting road and connecting rod lower end bearing. The force balances on the piston system involve the hydrodynamic/boundary lubrication, Elasto-Hydrodynamic Lubrication (EHL) in the case of flexible piston skirts and bearing mobility/impedance maps. Some of the important output quantites from PISDYN include pressure field on the piston and kinetic energy imparted by the piston on to the liner walls.
